Project Overview

Deegits Technology Ltd designed an Inventory Management System that gives businesses complete, real-time visibility of their stock — across one site or many. It replaces spreadsheets and manual stock counts with automated tracking, smart reorder logic, and detailed reporting.

The Challenge

Businesses were losing money through overstocking slow-moving items and running out of fast-moving ones. Manual stock counts were infrequent and inaccurate, supplier orders were placed reactively, and there was no clear picture of inventory value or movement trends. The solution needed to work across multiple warehouses while remaining simple enough for warehouse staff to use without training.

Key Features

  • Real-Time Stock Tracking — Live view of stock levels across all locations, updated instantly with every movement. Barcode and QR code support for fast scanning.
  • Automated Reordering — Set minimum stock thresholds per item. The system generates purchase orders automatically when stock falls below par, routed to the right supplier.
  • Product Categorisation — Full product catalogue with descriptions, serial numbers, expiry dates, batch/lot tracking, and custom attributes.
  • Inventory Valuation — Choose FIFO, LIFO, or weighted average costing. Real-time COGS calculation for accurate financial reporting.
  • Multi-Location Control — Centralised management of stock across warehouses or branches, with inter-location transfer logs and reconciliation.
  • Reporting & Analytics — Detailed movement history, slow-mover/fast-mover analysis, shrinkage tracking, and export to PDF/CSV for audits.
  • Role-Based Access — Warehouse staff, supervisors, and managers each see what they need. A full audit trail logs every change with user and timestamp.
  • ERP & POS Integration — Seamlessly connects with Deegits billing, EPOS, and third-party accounting tools for a unified business view.

Outcome

Clients saw stockout incidents drop dramatically within weeks of deployment as automated reorder alerts replaced reactive manual ordering. Inventory accuracy improved from estimated figures to near-perfect real-time counts, and the valuation module gave finance teams the data they needed for accurate monthly reporting without additional manual work.
